Happy Tuesday, all. New developments here – I live in SF again! And while I miss 59000 Lille oh so much, it’s lovely to be back in beautiful NorCal. Saturday morning I woke up to my alarm reminding me it was time to try and reserve a spot at the hot springs in Big Sur. 50 minutes and 90 busy signals / re-dials later, we were booked. (The things we do??)
But it’s worth it. Carmel + Big Sur are two of the most beautiful places in the bay area, and we really don’t take advantage of them enough. Some absolute must-dos:
stay @
Treebones resort – glamping at its finest along the coast (needs reservations well in advance)
explore
(Nude) hot springs @ Esalen {as mentioned above}–
The very exclusive Esalen institute opens its doors nightly to the public to enjoy their famed hot springs. To preserve the experience of other bathers, they only allow a maximum of 20 reservations per night. The experience is indescribable.
eat @
We came for breakfast, lunch and dinner and loved every version of this restaurant. Their back patio is nice for a sunny day, and the inside is perfect for a chilly cozy evening.
drink
Nepenthe –
The views! This place is worth a stop at least for one drink
Post Ranch Inn Patio –
The perfect way to enjoy the hotel without having to spend the $$ to stay the night

many other awesome hikes found here.
