The Rwanda Collection is a collaboration between Sakanaphotography and Africa New Life. ANL is an NGO based in Rwanda that through child sponsorship, food programs, education and vocational training, to name a few, is helping to rebuild the nation of Rwanda. The women’s vocational training center is a branch of the organization that teaches women the art and business of sewing. Most of the program participants are single mothers, genocide survivors or HIV positive. Through ANL they are enrolled in a year-long tailoring program where in addition to being trained, are counseled and rehabilitated amidst a community of women in similar life situations. This year the program grew to include a daily meal for the women and childcare will be implemented in 2013. The Rwanda Collection is a collection of accessories designed by Sakanaphotography in Rwanda and created by the women of ANL. Fabrics are purchased at local markets and fair trade manufacturing supports the program and the women it helps transform. To learn more about the women of ANL.
